Believed to have been used as a place of worship since the 8th century, this church reflects the typical Anglo-Saxon style—tall and narrow, with small windows that allow only limited light inside.
Parts of the building were rebuilt in the 18th century, carefully maintaining the original character.
A more recent addition is the Doulting stone ring on the east wall, carved by John Maine in 2012. It sits above a fossilised tree fragment dating back around 150 million years and a piece of a Saxon cross, linking the church’s early history with geological time.
